Happy spring,
friends!
As always, I am pleased to share with you my publication news:
My poems, “Trap, Neuter, Release,” “The Ice Cream Churn” and “Solace” are in the Western Voices issue of Setu Magazine, a bilingual zine that publishes in English and Hindi. Many thanks to editors Sunil Sharma, Anurag Sharma and Scott Thomas Outlar for putting this together.
“Consumption” is up at the Dope Fiend Daily. Many thanks to editor Scott Simmons and the rest of my Dope Fiend friends.
“Profesora” appears in Volume 3 of Ordinary Madness, produced by Weasel Press. Many thanks to editor Izzy T. Visit the main website here. Download the free issue here.
“Asylum Prayer,” is up at the Rye Whiskey Review. Editor John Patrick Robbins has my eternal gratitude for continuing to publish my work.
The latest issue of Spoonfeed (UK), a literary food magazine, is now available! It has my poem, “Snoot.” Many thanks to editors Kat Payne Ware and Connor Smith. Food and poetry—two subjects very near and dear to my heart! Read the whole issue here. Go directly to my poem, including a video of me reading it, here.
If you weren't able to tune into the Gleam team interview with Songs of Selah, you can listen to it here. Many thanks to Scott Thomas Outlar for being an excellent host, as always, and to the Gleam contributors who read their work. If you love poetry, (and I assume you’re here because you do) you should definitely give this a listen.
In other Gleam news, I’m thrilled to say the rest of the editorial team and I have made the final selections for Issue 2 and hope to launch next month.
And finally, the other news I’d like to share with you is that a colleague has nominated me for Missouri Poet Laureate! It’s a tremendous honor just to receive a nomination and I am both humbled and grateful. The state announces its selection in late June, so—fingers crossed!
Thank you for reading, and Happy Easter to those who celebrate!
