January News

Hello, friends! 2021 is starting off as a great year for poetry—Amanda Gorman’s out there giving us all hope that people outside the poetry community might actually care about verse! If you haven’t watched her read at Biden’s inauguration, you definitely should.

Around here, I kicked off the New Year exactly as you’d expect—with poems. I had three in one day go up—I think that’s a record!

“Hair Work,” appears in the latest issue of MacQueen’s Quinterly. Many thanks to editor Clare MacQueen.

I’m always pleased to share that I have work up at the Rye Whiskey Review—this month, it’s “Jack and Lucy.” I am continually grateful to editor John Patrick Robbins for sharing my work with the world.

“The Long Night” is in Rough Cut Press. Thank you to Amanda Lezra and the rest of the Rough Cut team for this gorgeous issue.

Also published this month:

“Confection” in The Dope Fiend Daily. Thank you to editor Scott Simmons.

“White Noise" appears in Gnashing Teeth's Winter Zine. This is a limited print run of 50 hand-sewn copies, so grab one while you can!

And finally, on the poetry front, I got my contributor copy of Lethe: A Literary and Art Journal out of Istanbul. It had a long journey getting here-- international shipping, delays due to Covid and post office back-ups, and I've moved. The person who rented my old apartment tracked me down to get this to me, which gives me faith in humanity. Check out my poems, "Waiting for Anubis" and "Woodpecker in Winter."

I am also pleased to share that I am working on and submitting short stories. A short horror piece I submitted to the Beyond Words Magazine flash fiction competition made the Top 10.

And finally, in case you missed it, I have updated all the covers for the Order of the Four Sons series. If you like fantasy and haven’t checked out the Order yet, Book 1 is only 99 cents on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other ebook stores.

Thank you for reading! Stay safe and well.

New Cover Art!

Friends, I'm thrilled to share that I have commissioned new cover art for my fantasy series, The Order of the Four Sons. Check out these beauties!

If you haven't already, discover the world of the Order: a sprawling, fast-paced, epic adventure. Two ancient organizations, the Order of the Four Sons of Horus and Starry Wisdom, have been battling for centuries for possession of a powerful artifact known as the Staff of Solomon. Whoever has possession of the staff can rip open the very fabric of existence.

The complete series is available as ebooks from Amazon, Smashwords, and other digital stores. Book 1 is only 99 cents. Paperbacks are available through Amazon.

Many thanks to designer Rebecca Kenney for the great new look!
